Trip to the Zoo

Flashback to last fall:
We wanted to take Sailor, Jaxon, and Annabella to the Zoo, but when it came down to going only Annabella could come. We had a great time checking out all the animals and playing in the park they have inside the zoo.

We got to see the baby elephant playing with it's mom. It's so cute!
Annabella just had to climb on the Rhino.
The bears are one of my favorites! Don't you just want to pet them.
The Tigers were so beautiful. Daddy here is scratching his back. Annabella was afraid of them. Kevin had to hold her.
After seeing the real thing, Annabella wanted Kevin to pose with here on statue. There were a bit less scary.

We also got to see another baby. I'm told this little guy didn't survive the year. So sad. Look how cute Mom and baby are!
All kinds of birds wonder the park, Annabella wanted to get SO close, but only if Kevin would hold her. She's so funny. She really is "Kevin's little buddy".
We only got a glimpse of the gorilla... not the best angle.
but they did have a statue, I love this picture.
After running around for hours we took a train ride around the zoo and it even took us into some of the habitats.
On the train ride we saw a park- Annabella climbed on everything and loved it!
She's so independent, we had to run around after her and try to keep up.
She really loved the slide, she did this over and over! Look at that happy smile!
After a full day of playing and running around we headed home and slept.

Trip to the Planetarium

Flashback to last summer:
We took Sailor, one of Sailors friends and Annabella to the Planetarium to see the IMAX 3-D Dinosaur movie.

Although we got Annabella to wear the glasses for these pictures- she wouldn't keep them on for the movie. She eventually fell asleep in Kevin's arms, instead of watching the movie. So cute!
After the movie we explored. Here they are on Mars.
Then the Moon.
Annabella wanted to hold Kevin's hand and help him explore.
Sailor concurred the Moon

When we were all done at the Planetarium we walked down to the fountain in Gateway mall. Annabella was afraid of the water shooting out. We all got a little wet and then headed home. It's so fun to spend the day with our nieces, they are so fun!

Mallory & Mitch Wedding

Sacramento Temple

It was a beautiful ceremony. I'm so happy and excited for Mallory and Mitch! Thanks for letting us be part of your day. These are just a couple of the pictures Kevin took.

Mallory and Mitch when they first came out of the Temple

Kevin and Me
sorry I cut off your head, love ya

Me in my bridesmaid outfit

Here are the pictures of the Dress and Vail.
My Mom is the GREATEST! After dress shopping with Mallory I asked my Mom if she was up for a project. My Mom is a very talented seamstress and I LOVE working with her. She agreed (YEAH) to make Mallory's wedding dress with me. She spent a lot of time teaching and coaching me on top of everything else it takes to make a dress. This is the second dress we've done together. It was so fun to have an excuse to see my mom at least once a week to work on it. It took about two months to finish. (My Mom having two full time jobs and me working as well, that's not to bad) Mallory was such an easy bride to work with. She looked so beautiful. Thanks for trusting us, and for giving me the opportunity to learn from my Mom. It was great!

Updates

Yup, I'm back. Sorry to all of you who check (or used to check) to see what's going on in our life. I decided not to try to update in order from last year. I'm just gonna jump to more recent pictures, and every once in a while I'll do a flashback and get you something from last year or maybe older. Thanks for checking on us again.

Just a side note- Mark and Melissa- I just found out that it wasn't Kevin who started our blog for us... Mark... it's your fault. Kevin didn't even know (or remember) or blog address. Hmmm, I'm not sure how I got assigned to take care of this. Don't worry Mark, we can still be friends.

FISHING

From Spring to Fall 2009
Yup that's snow... it's March 2009, Fishing season has begun. I'm not sure why Kevin all the sudden decided he not only loved the outdoors (which he always has) but that he loved fishing and camping as well. This was the begining of a summer full of hanging out by the pond or lake with a pole. It was GREAT! I don't think you can catch a fish your first time fishing in years and not get hooked. Well, Kevin was hooked!

Weber River
Fly fishing wasn't a big leap for Kevin. He watched video's and read magazines. And spent time researching what rivers were the best in Utah to fly fish. This is the Weber river. No luck this time.

Cute outfit Hu?

Owen's outfit wasn't much better... ha ha.

Kaysville Pond

Kevin's first Bass. It looked so cool! I think he caught this one at Kaysville Pond- I don't remember. Good size! This fish was so heavy. Nice Job Kevin!

Pineview Reservoir

We went float tube fishing for the first time in Pineview. It was a little creepy if you ask me. But so much fun. Huntsville is so beautiful. I wouldn't mind living up there. More days on the lake with Kevin, I'll take it!
Kevin caught huge fish. None we wanted to eat though.

I just tried to get some sun. I am so white. I did a little fishing as well in the float tubes. As usual I didn't catch anything.

Farmington Pond

Kevin taught AnnaBella to fish this summer. This was the first of many fishing trips with her. We got her a little purple fishing pole for her birthday. She even caught a fish all by her self on her fishing pole this summer. How cute!! She never wanted to leave Kevin's side. She truly is Kevin's little buddy. (she loves to tell everybody that fact) On this trip Kevin would cast the line and she would reel it in. They whole time she was reeling it in she would say "we got one Kev" over and over then... nothing. No fish on the line. It was so funny.

After a long day playing at the pond AnnaBella was SO tired! She took a long nap when we got home. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Provo River

Kevin hooked a fish that was huge- they are skilled in evasion though. It jumped out of the water and dove like crazy and broke Kevin's line before he could let more out.

He had pretty good luck there never leaving empty handed.

Trip to Eden
After hanging out with friends in Eden all night, we decided to visit Owen's mission President before heading home. We came prepared with fishing poles and ended up spending the day playing out back by their private pond. The fish were elusive which lead us to spend at least the next six hours playing and trying to catch them.

Owen and Shannon tried to trick the fish by fishing from the boat. It didn't work. They didn't have any more success from the boat than we had from the side.

We tried fly fishing, rod and reel, nothing was working. We did get a couple bits. A true test of patience. Kevin is SO patient when he's fishing, he could do this all day.

Patience finally paid off for me. I caught the biggest fish! Kevin taught me well. I pull of the red neck look really well here too. A true fishing picture.

Next thing we knew, there was snow and ice. Fishing season over. Well, maybe next year we'll take up ice fishing.
